About Stretchtonerecover
Empowering people over 50 to reclaim their energy, strength, and vitality through daily rituals designed for real life.
We believe that your second act is your best act.
Our Story
Stretchtonerecover was born from a simple observation: the fitness world largely ignored people over 50. For years, energy routines and wellness programmes seemed designed exclusively for younger bodies, with messaging that felt disconnected from the real challenges of midlife and beyond.
Our founder, Margaret Ellis, was a physiotherapist working across the UK when she noticed a pattern. Clients in their 50s, 60s, and 70s were searching for sustainable ways to maintain strength, manage chronic tension, and recover their daily energy—but guidance was fragmented, often generic, or based on outdated assumptions about ageing.
What began as evening sessions in a community hall in London evolved into something bigger. Margaret collaborated with movement specialists, sleep experts, and nutritionists who shared her conviction: energy after 50 isn't about dramatic transformations or quick fixes. It's about understanding your body's needs and building daily rituals that actually stick.
Today, Stretchtonerecover is an editorial platform where readers from across the United Kingdom discover evidence-based guidance, shared experiences, and practical strategies to move with confidence, rest deeply, and wake up ready to embrace each day. We're not selling a product—we're building a community of people who refuse to let energy fade.

I was convinced that fatigue after 50 was just inevitable. Then I read Margaret's article on sleep architecture and started the morning ritual. Within three weeks, I had more sustained energy than I'd felt in years. The community here is genuinely supportive—this isn't just information, it's a movement.

I'm 67 and never thought I'd have the energy to volunteer again or enjoy hiking with my grandchildren. The stretching protocols and nutrition guidance here are the game-changer. I feel stronger, more resilient, and genuinely optimistic about what my body can do.
